One Serious Liveaboard

This may be the solution for those who worry about what they may have to leave behind to go on a cruise!

Pictured above is a 100-year-old Victorian mansion - it is 7,000 square feet in size and, yes, it is on Tampa Bay. The bridge in the background is the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. The house made a 25-mile voyage aboard a barge from Palmetto, Florida to Ruskin, Florida.

The house was moved to make way for development. The new owners decided to put it on a barge due to its size - moving by land would have required the house be cut into three pieces. The moving company said they provided a substantial discount due to the publicity involved - but normal costs would have been around $250,000. I guess that would be enough to blow the cruising kitty right there...

I've lived aboard and been on the water for a lot of years now but I have never seen anything like this before.
