Michelle and Eileen Quinn try out some pillows Michelle picked up at the Saturday morning flea market during the Seven Seas Cruising Association annual party in Melbourne, FL. (Nov. 2005)

Michelle having fun at the Strictly Sail boat show in St. Petersburg. It was about a billion degrees in the tent - but all in all a great show.

large product photo   During Filming In The Bahamas

Michelle taking a break during filming on Volleyball Beach near George Town in the Bahamas. While there on our cruise a few years ago, I spent many hours just hanging out and watching the world go by there. There was such a special feeling to it - I can't begin to describe it. The camera Chelle is holding is mounted on a stabilizer - it has to be held out at nearly arm's length with one hand - it did a good job of keeping the camera more or less steady but it got heavy fast.

large product photo   Dinghy Into George Town

This scene is probably instantly familiar to the thousands of cruisers who have spent time in George Town on Great Exuma in the Bahamas. Most of the boats anchor off the beaches on the other side of Elizabeth Harbor. To get into George Town, you dinghy into this channel, go under a small bridge and into a small lake. The main grocery store, Exuma Markets, provides a dinghy dock on the other side.

large product photo   Chelle and Flat Stanley

Michelle and Flat Stanley hang out on the dock at the Peace & Plenty Hotel in George Town. Our trip in to film interviews was a lot different than our previous trip on Hetty Brace. In the first trip, we would never have even considered having dinner in a hotel every night and having endless hot water for showers each day. As nice as it was, we both would rather have been on our boat at anchor in the harbor.

large product photo   The Original DVD Jacket

I just like this picture - it's hard to tell with the small image for the web but it shows two sailboats at anchor just off the beach with a woman sitting and taking it all in. The picture was shot at Hole One off Stocking Island near George Town. The Chat 'N Chill beach bar is directly behind. This was originally the DVD jacket image for Being Out There - but since it was horizontal, we had to change to a vertical image for selling to retail stores. I still like the picture, though. I can imagine myself being there...

large product photo   Fun In The Boatyard

Our catamaran, Hetty B (in the background), just barely fit into the haulout well at the boatyard we used near Tampa. Chelle is pictured making some padded covers - we didn't have enough space to use normal fenders to keep us off the rough cement seawall.

large product photo   Chelle On Deck

This is being out there - Michelle is pictured up on deck of Hetty Brace just watching the water go by. I would imagine this was taken somewhere out in the Gulf of Mexico.

large product photo   Out There

It's hard to see on this reduced web image but looking down the deck of Hetty Brace there's a ship out on the horizon. Our friends on another sailboat had a pretty close encounter with it. This picture was taken out in the Atlantic on our way to Mayaguana Island. The sun had just set on a great day of sailing and we still had an overnight to go before we reach land. By this point, I really felt like we were out there - it was a wonderful feeling.

large product photo   Remember To Save Water

You don't have to leave the country to be out there. Here's Michelle with an important message on Cabbage Key on the Gulf coast of Florida. Cabbage Key is a cool place - and it's only accessible by boat.

large product photo   Michelle Perved in Puerto Plata

Here's Michelle on a street in Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. The trash moves along with some scary looking water in the gutters of streets. But for some reason, in the D.R., it all kind of works. We loved that country as much as any we've ever visited. Pictured off on the left - I do believe that guy is perving Michelle...

large product photo   A Good Combo

There's just something about sailboats and motorcycles that make for a good combination. The is me (Mitch) on a small two-stroke Yamaha we rented for our wedding anniversary in the Dominican Republic. We rode it up into the mountains and had lunch at a great restuarant - we had the place to ourselves. On the way up, we had to stop a few times to let livestock cross the road in front of us. The guy we rented the bike from charged us $10 for the day.

large product photo   Rush Hour Dom. Rep. Style

Here is the Dominican Republic during rush hour - we have a bunch of old cars going in every single direction and a horse drawn cart thrown in for fun. Just off the picture are a couple of people riding donkeys. There are no real traffic laws in the D.R. so things can get kind of interesting - but there is absolutely no road rage, either. Everyone just kind of gets along.

large product photo   Another Day Ending Underway

Another scene that is a happy place in my memories. A day ends in the Gulf of Mexico during our trip to Cuba and the Dry Tortugas. What I wouldn't give to be back there right now...

large product photo   What It's All About

Michelle has a perma-grin going as she sails her first boat - a Bristol 27 named Pegasus - near Ft. Myers Beach in Florida. Her look really sums up what it's all about.
